5 inspiring event sets & staging structures

Last year XKX travelled to Barcelona where we installed stage elements & scenic structures for Wella Professionals’ 2017 Key Hair Trends show.

This included the rotating Diamond faceted archways that the models can be seen walking through. Mirror bonded internals allowed for the reflections of the models & lights to bounce off creating visually stunning displays as the camera panned from angle to angle.


Inspired by leading international events and staging, we loved the challenge of building these large structures, here's our round up of some of the world's most impressive event sets....


1. Torrowland, Electric Dance Festival, Belguim

First held in 2005, Tomorrowland and has since become one of the world's largest and most notable music festivals.

From once humble beginnings, the festival's iconic set design has become known for it's elabrate stage structures which have included a rainbow frame and lilly pad towers, volcanos, enormous books, forest canopies and circus big tops. It's impressive stuff....


2. The Eurovison Song Contest, 2016

Designed by Frida Arvidsson and Viktor Brattström, 2016's Eurovision stage set included an innovative LED wall which allowed the artists to move inside it.

Designer, Viktor Brattström said ahead of the event that "We want to do something that makes people wonder if it’s even possible".

Using light as a strong component to create depth within it's impressive 3D structures, the 2016 stage is one of our favourite set designs of recent years...



3. Dior Homme, Summer 2017

We loved Dior Homme's Summer 2017 catwalk show which featured a looping steal rollercoaster frame studded with multicoloured lights.

Designed by Brussels production studio Villa Eugénie, the stage set was inspired by the Sinksenfoor fairground in Antwerp....
